Many swimmers had great swims and showed their strength and drive throughout the meet.

First Time J.O. Qualifiers:
Steven Ariol - 200 free, 100 breast, and 50 free
Joe Brake - 100 breast
Winston Johnson - 100 breast; with many more to come
Samantha Spence - 100 fly and 200 IM
Julius Torres - 50 free
Christian Riobo - 100 free, 100 IM and 200 IM. 


The following swimmers added to their repertoire of J.O. events by
qualifying this past weekend. Tiffany Oliver- 200 breast (sectional qualifying time!) & 400 IM. Juana Vargas- added the 100 fly to her J.O. events. Joshua Lee- 500 & 1000 free, Claire Hamilton - 50 Free.

Even though some swimmers did not make JO qualifying times they proved that practice improves their meet performance and they are a couple steps closer to making their J.O. cut times.

Dylan Sell claimed the top spot in the 8 and Under 100 freesytle and came within 1 second of accomplishing his first J.O. cut in the 10 & under category. He also managed to break his own team record in the 8 and under 100 breaststroke. Justin Robson- bettered his time in every event and dropped considerable time in the 200 free and his 100 free.

For a first year swimmer, Whitney Johnson is just so happy to be
swimming and it shows at every meet with her smile and satisfaction with each of her swims. Christian Riobo, a newcomer to the Comets and a diligent worker at practice exemplified what a great attitude and good practice habits can do for a swimmer.
